A Smooth Transition for All – Starting Now!

The Grand Island Chamber of Commerce is excited to see Pinto Trucking is ready to take on the garbage contract. We celebrated at Town Hall with a ribbon cutting in front of one of their brand new garbage trucks. The entire community is looking forward to having a local business servicing our trash removal needs!

Pinto Sanitation will begin garbage and recycling removal services on Grand Island on January 2nd, 2019.

Leading up to that time there are a series of planned communications that they have created to help aid in a smooth transition. Here are some things you can expect from them in the days to come;

December 1st
Pinto Sanitation will launch their new web site and Facebook page. They will be using these sites to post important information regarding what to expect, when to expect it, garbage, recycling & bulk items FAQ’s and who to contact if you have questions.

Being aware that not all of our local citizens are active on the web, Pinto has planned the following traditional methods of communication as well;

The week of 12/3
A direct mail piece to each Island resident will be sent which will include general information regarding the transition.

The weeks of 12/10 & 12/17
New recycling totes will be distributed. Each tote will be delivered with a
post card attached that has information regarding the transition and what is happening. Continue to use your current blue recycling tote until January 2nd.

December 26th – 27th
Additional mailer will be sent to each resident with a reminder of the transition and further instructions to remind/help Island citizens.

Lastly, in efforts to make this transition as seamless as possible, it’s good to know that everyone’s weekly collection days will stay the same as they currently are.

The team at Pinto Sanitation is happy to answer any additional questions people may have. You can call them at 716-775-0123.
